This is the first class in a two[part series.
You're invited to learn to communicate via packet radio. This is a great way to send detailed information fast and accurately. We'll use it in case of emergency to gather status reports from neighborhoods throughout Los Altos, request aid and more. This is a hands-on experience: you'll fire up a packet radio station, exchange messages and try operating in the field.
All you need is your ham radio license. We'll start with the basics, and coach you along the way. You don't need previous experience or equipment. Use your own equipment if you have it, or LAARES can loan you what you need.
This class will meet twice, Friday 4/1/2022 and Friday 4/8/2022 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM on Zoom. You'll have some homework between meetings.
